Carpet Spread

A  limited edition print on high quality paper measuring 40 cm x 20 cm. These two sketches as they appear side by side in my sketchbook offer an interesting composition as the elements seem to flow across the double page. The imagery has been inspired by oriental textile designs on rugs and cushions around my home. Although this was not intended as a single piece, I like how the geometric and the more fluid elements set each other off. I may yet   turn this into a painting too.
